What is the quietest filter?

I have been up all night for 24 hours now and ihave had it!

The new biowheel 350 i got a day ago is imo a good filter and does its job but i can't stand the racket it makes from the water splashing with the biowheels and too much surface flow.

I have two 30 gals in my bedroom right next to each other so i need it to be quiet or i can't sleep.

I have a penguin 200 on the original tank i have and i can liv with it but i am still even hesitant with that.

What should i get?

I have only so much money to spend i am in school and do not have a job!

We have a 350 and a 200, if the tank is kept full we can barley here it.....:)

Yeah, I keep all of my HOB filter tanks filled to the filter's rim, which means no splashing whatsoever.

How high is the water level? If the water level is high enough you should not hear the bio-wheels. I have them running on several of my tanks and they are virtually silent.

And to think my wife paid good money for a machine that sounds like water running to listen to at night to help her fall asleep ......Maybe I can use this as an excuse to get another tank to put in the bedroom and say "but listen hunny the water running off the HOB will make you fall right to sleep" :)

I have an aquaclear 30 on my 10 gallon tank, and it is silent as long as the water level is high enough. I usually fill my tank up to the rim, so if you don't have it that high, try that and see what happens. Good luck.
