ok got another question. this one is about our new ram. heres the deal, we got him about a week ago. he was very colorful in the fishstore. during the week his color has comeback a bit but he dosnt seem as bright as he was in the store, not really a big deal. heres the real issue that bothers me. it dosnt seem like hes eating. he will not go to the top and eat like the other fish and any food that folats near him he does not eat. he will just take flakes from the bottom of the tank. he will eat a flake than spit it out. he will do it repeatedly. sometines it looks like he is not spitting, or maybe its so small I cant tell. I figure he must be eating because its been a week and he would be dead by now if he hasnt eaten anything right?? is this normal behavior or should I do something to get him to eat. he seems happy otherwise.

red ram?
(color morph?) altispinosa or ramirezi?
rams feed primarily from the bottom..at least mine do.

what is the temp of the tank?

Red rams? This is interesting. I've never seen one. Any pictures?

He probably doesn't like flake. Get some frozen worms or better yet, live.

What's a "red ram"? Sounds cool!

I think a Bolivian Ram is sometimes tagged a red ram =)

Feed it something live as soon as you can, my rams like shrimp!

I have 4 long finned rams and their color really shows when they are close to one another... They eat frozen bloodworms really well. One even took a bloodworm out of my discus's mouth yesterday.

Oh yeah...they love beefheart too. I only give it to the discus's once a week but boy do the rams love it too. It's their chocolate.
