Yes. Most often, they will if not fed with leafy vegetables.

Yes.

IME... They'll only eat your plants if you are starving them.... If you feed them plenty of vegies after dark along with your regular feedings, you should be fine.

Everything I've read about bristlenose "plecos" says they don't.

BN are pretty easy on the plants. They do clean them, so delicate small leaves may be damaged, but they generally don't eat them if you keep the BN well fed. Like all plecos, they do produce a lot of waste for their size.

not usually, and they wont poop as much as commons, but still produce alot of waste.

it really depends on the fish, actually. I have a few bunches of giant hygro demolished overnight by otherwise well-fed bristlenose fry. sometimes you just never know. But in general, BN's are some of the more plant-friendly herbivorous plecos.

If you want to be really safe, go with otos or SAE for algae control and a hypancistrus sp. for a pleco.

I haven't seen this on this forum, but I have two plecos I bought in Japan and the shop calls them, "mini bushy" mini bushynose pleco? Grows no bigger than 4.5cm which is pretty much the case. Doesnt terrorize my plants and I think my shrimp poop more than it does. Highly recommend them.

Have two of them, no problems with plant eating, I don't even give them special food, and they don't bother when I feed the other inmates. In the 5 month I have them, they have grown quite a bit, about 50% more than when I bought them.
I might be wrong, but should I give them special food if there are enough algae? Please advise.

They should be given veggies, too. Mine gets a slice of zucchini a few times a week, and some shrimp pellets.

I have a dozen juvies in my 55 planted and they don't touch my plants.
