Greeting fellow icthymaniacs. I'm relatively new to the hobby, having re-entered in May of Last year after a 25 year hiatus when my girls (about the same age as I was when I got my first tank) brought home a half dollar sized painted turtle from my folks place. It would have gone no farther, and it would have been suffered to kick the oft mentioned bucket except that they named it Swirly, and the irony exceeded my tolerance levels.
So it got a 10 gallon, which it outgrew, but not before I set up another 10 gallon so I could have some fish. Then I got it a 20 gallon. Then I decided to get a 55 to try my hand at a biotope. Then the turtle outgrew the 20 and I got it a 75. Long story short, I now have running:
A 5.5 gallon planted with a Halfmoon male betta and an otto
A 10 gallon planted with a Super Delta male betta and 3 ottos
Three 20 gallon planted with Tetras and cories and small plecos (Bristlenosed and Clown)
One 20 with Panda Cories and Mystery snails
A 28 with Feeder guppies (for cycling and transitory lodging)
A 33 Flat Back Hex with neons and pygmy cories
A 50 breeder full of Loaches (the loach motel)
A 55 that I am in the process of taking down and reworking to consolidate the 3 Amazon 20s.
A 75 that I am transferring the population of the 55 to (Gouramis, Rasboras, Barbs, and Loaches)
... and in the Garage, 2 more 10 gallon tanks, a 2.5, and a 110 High all waiting for time, inclination and space.
