I came home tonight and noticed my cleaner shrimps antena standing up on the bottome of the tank, then on closer inspection realized that it was sticking out of the bottom of the chocolate chip star!!!!. I am hoping against hope that the shrimp (whom I've had for over 16 months and hand feed) has just molted and is hiding somewhere, but normally I can find him easily and I've been looking for a while now. I'm surprised the star was able to get him since he was pretty big. This totally sucks.

My CC Star is in the sump so he doesn't touch anything.

Red,

You sure the starfish didn't just grab his molt? Usually when shrimp molt, they hide for a day or so.

Chocolate Chips aren't reef safe. I think your star ate your shrimp.

Agreed. I watched one eating a cleaner shrimp at my LFS a couple of years ago. I'd wanted one up until that point!!!

2 days later and no shrimp. He's gone. It's all I can do to stop from throwing the star out the window.
