What's the bioload of an Angelfish? I know they get to about 6" (body size), but beyond that, I don't know.

Thanks

What goes in determines what comes out. There's no real set bioload for a particular fish. Granted some fish like plecos seem to poop a whole lot more than others. If a pleco is a 10 for being the poop master, then an angel would be somewhere around a 4 I think.

on a scale on 1 to 10 i would say a 4-5, depending on what youre feeding them.

Agreed, but I might have to give the pleco an 11 out of 10! :P

LOL...what I'm really asking is...I'm thinking on getting 3 Angelfish for my 125. What do you think?

I can move the 5 glo-fish to the 30 gal without a problem.

Go for it. Is there any problem with gouramis and angels? I don't think there is but I was just wondering...

Dude, it's a 125! :) A few angels would not overstock it, you probably wouldn't even see any spikes if you added 3 full grown adult angels with that amount of water.

Are your glowlight tetras actually Glofish (GM danios), or are they the naturally-occurring glowlight tetras? If they are the tetras, you probably don't need to move them. They are not nippy, so they pose no threat to the angels, but they grow larger than neons, so it's doubtful IMO that they will be eaten. I kept glowlights with an adult angel for a long time, no issues whatsoever. You'll need to find out what species your other tetras are, just to make sure they are not nippers. My other major concern here is the gouramis... some people get it to work, others have huge problems mixing angels and gouramis. I've never done it so I can't really wager a guess, but I suppose it's best to have a back up plan in case it doesn't work out, even if that means a Rubbermaid bin with a cheap heater and filter. You know if things go haywire it will happen like 10 minutes after the LFS closes when you can't return the fish! ;) I'm not sure if the geophagus will be a problem for angels, but I doubt it if he's not a problem for the gouramis.

Oh wait I just saw that it was a 125. Then definitely! I agree with severum on the angels and gouramis. I believe that geophagus is pretty peaceful, but I guess it might depend on which species you have.

Get 'em...no problem with that tank size and current stocking.

I got three of them from a local supplier (she' seems like a great resource....she raises them in her garage... 15-20 tanks...sweet!). So far there haven't been any problems.

...however, before I put them in, I was going to move the glofish over to my 30 gallon community/schooling tank, but...alas, they were no where to be found. Guess the eel got them. C'est la vie...nature in motion. Guess I don't have to worry about it now. :)

I'll post picts later today or tomorrow. They're great! They're not adults and are only a couple of inches across. We're naming them Natalie, Dylan, and Alex (anyone?).

Haha, I should name my fish. But I don't want to get too emotionally attached, like you and your glo-fish...

I name my fish, or rather my kids do I have tiger barbs Larry Curly and Mo, silver dollars ozzie and harriet, blue rams ward and june, and a pleco named junior (because he is only 6" versus the 16" one named Plecos Bill we had before)

LOL...dig the Plecos Bill!

Yeah...naming is a family thing. It helps the wifey tolerate this habit/obesssion. My son likes to come up with made-up names. Ogglesif. I have no idea what it means or where it comes from. He hears sounds and names the fish that... he's five. He remebers what they're called though... months later. I have no idea. He's strange.
