Today I noticed both my angels eyes are red like there is blood in them. Also on the upper part of there back looks like blood under there scales.
My water is testing Ammo 0 NitrIte 0 NitrAte 10 PH 7.8 Temp 78.
Anyone have any idea what is causing this and how to treat it?

I have kept angel fish for many years and also breed them, I have never seen what you are talking about. If you can post some pic's, maybe I can help.

some angels have red eyes..particularly wilds.
but pics would help.
reddness near fins??? sometimes indicative of hemorragic septicemia... but not always the case..

yep ^^^
The red is around where the iris would be in humans but I have never noticed it being red before. These angels are about 8 months old.
If it is Hemmorragic Septicemia, Will my other fish get it ? I just did a little reading on it and it sounds awful scary, like I am going to loose my whole tank.
Is there any thing I can do?:help: Meds???
And also how do they get Hemorragic septicemia?? I am about to PANIC!!!!

Don't panic yet, it may not be what you think. :) Are the angels behaving normally, and are they eating? Is there any way that you could get a pic up here like using a camera phone or borrowing a camera from someone real quick?

Water PH of 7.8 seems a little high. Is this the normal Ph for this tank? I would do a PWC to try to lower the PH if it usually isn't this high.

I see no reason why the pH must be changed if the fish is fine. Captive-bred scalare angels have long been adapted to various water conditions.

I recently acquired an old Angel which came ot me with "dull" colors, for lack of a better way of putting it. Simply, I acquate the faded coloring to the stress he was under kept in a 75G tank with a 12" Oscar!
Anyways, he has colored up nicely and, yes, he has RED eyes (where ours are white), but his pupils are both black. Also, only one eye is completely red around, while the other is 2/3 red around.
He's doing very well. Perhaps too well...
I think I have a picture...let me check.
Here is a picture, when he was still getting use to things (he has colored up a bit more). His eye is more 'orange' than red I guess...Not sure if this is same thing as you are describing though:

I am feeling just a little Stupid right now. Both angels are still doing fine and are eating and acting normal. Maybe I just never noticed the redness in the eyes and on there backs before. I just moved them several weeks ago to my new 55 gallon tank and maybe the lighting is different and made me notice it, But they seem to be o.k. I was looking at the pictures of the month and picture # 11 looks just like them. So I guess I panicked for nothing. But
THANKS to you all any way.:)

Angels eyes will also redden when they are getting ready to pair up and spawn. Red eyes years ago was the norm but ever since the 80's angles plague it is less common but is making a come back.
nothing to worry about unless they stop eating.

I've noticed that it seems to be mostly larger angels that have red eyes... but I hadn't been able to figure out exactly what red eyes meant (maturity? age? size? certain water conditions?). But not all large angels had red eyes, so that confused me. Interesting to note that people have noticed a correlation with spawning behavior (though a friend of mine had a huge angel who lived alone all her life who had red eyes... was she (or he) trying to tell us she wanted a mate?)

is there any red on their body?
if not then i wouldn't worry about it.. and sometimes they develop this kind of thing as they mature. just keep an eye out but dont panic.

Yeah I saw a bunch of rather large Angels at the LFS yesterday that all had very vividly red eyes, and they were wild caught! And when I say rather large they were about 4".
