glass type?

i want to build my own glass tank but i don't know which glass type tank manufacturers use. Does anyone know? thanks in advance.

Thinking you are asking about tempered versus plate. Most tanks bigger than about 55 gallons have tempered glass bottoms, and plate glass sides. The thing to consider--are you going to be drilling the tank for overflows.sumps? Tempered glass can not be cut/drilled--it will shatter. Plate glass can be cut/drilled, but is not as strong as tempered glass.

the new perfectos have tempered sides and bottom now no more drilling :( be carefull with your glass purchace as there are dosens of diff coatings used UV ,anti glare,scrach coatings,safty glass coatings.Plus on top of that you have an endless variteys of clairity and tints:rolleyes: Then you have to make a frame so IMHO totaly a waste of time and money exspect to pay almost the cost of a simmilar sized pre made tank.If I was to build a tank plywood w/glass front or acrylic tank 200g or bigger would be what I madethe little stuff would be a waste of money.
