I have a large astrea snail - 1.5" or so. For the past 4 days, in the morning, I Have found him on his back (most likely fell) and have had to turn him over.

Is this normal - at this frequency? Or is he a special snail? I have been able to find and turn him over easily thankfully. However, if he falls within the rock structure, I fear I wont find him.

So is he suicidal or just special?

Thanks

Aries

I've found that most of my snails, when they fall, tend to land upside down. I think usually they're able to right themselves eventually, especially if they land in cracks in the rocks. But, at least once or twice the hermits have found them before they're able to right themselves, then its byebye snail. I figure I can't watch the tank 24/7, so losing a snail once in a while is just going to be part of the process.

Shouldn't this be in general marine...? I thought I was lost for a second.

Yes this SHOULD be in Marine, I thought I was in that forum when I was posting.
