Foam all of a sudden in my sump

I just purchased a week ago a 125 gallon which has a sump and skimmer below. so far so good. Tonight I went to check the sump level and there is now tons of foam and my skimmer has alot of water in it? when I empty the cup it just fills back up with alot of water? The only thing I added was chemiclean which I put in to help with red slime on the bottom? Any suggestions to stop the foam?

Skimmers will often go nuts whenever you add anything to the water. It should calm down in a day or so. If it's too much of a headache, you might want to shut it off until the chemiclean breaks down.

Important Note: So you do not alter or filter ChemiClean out of your tank, first turn off UV sterilizer and/or Ozonizer and also your Protein Skimmer. Remove ChemiPure or any other Carbon Filtration for 24 hours following each treatment. During treatment maintain tank oxygen levels with airstone or other aerator.


I'm assuming these instructions would be printed on the package...
