My clown loaches lay on their sides for hours at a time, then they come out and swim as normally as before. I heard this was pretty common behavior in clown loaches. Does anyone know why they do this?
That is how they sleep/rest. All botiine loaches do.;)

Yeah, mine do this too. They scare me sometimes, lying in awkward poses on the gravel...

It's resting behavior. It's normal. What's funny is when they stack themselves in a 'pile'. I have 6 clowns and they cram themselves all in a hole like sardines. They are definitely the most interesting fish to watch.
