I know the majority here recommend marineland stealth heater but what do you guys think of AC heaters? Are they reliable and accurate?

I saw the one above at my lfs today and its 10 bucks cheaper than the stealth so Im thinking about buying the AC heater instead...

I have never used the heater, but since it is pre-set, I would not recommend it. You are better off buying a heater where you can change the temperature. This is because if you ever need to raise the or lower the temperature for whatever reason, you won't be able to. For that reason, I would definitely recommend the stealth heater. It is IMO the best heater around.

Its not preset, it has a dial on the top like any other submergible heater. I have been using a 300W for my 75g for almost a year- so far I have no complants. There pretty cheap too

visi-therm makes the stealths, not marineland. (well maybe they make a model of stealth, but the one recommended here is the visitherm)

the old hagen thermal presets were really good heaters. I used them for about a decade before I switched to Ebo Jagers, which I do think are a bit better.

if they are like their old ones, they should be good, and available in a 300W size which is not too common these days..
