Just wondering, I've seen some tanks in the lfs note the tanks are "brackish" cichlids. Are these from a certain area or do all areas have "some" brackish species. Can anyone provide a list or a site which indicates which are BW, which are FW?

(still dealing with a bad strain of the yucks in my main tank so not going to be going out and getting anything for quite a while and was entertaining the thought on doing a BW cichlid setup)

(edit due to typo's)

Asian cichlids are brackish. They are the chromides. There are 3 types:

Etroplus maculatus aka Orange chromide
Etroplus suratensis aka Green chromide
Etroplus canarensis aka striped chromide (not common in the hobby)

Here is a site about Asian cichlids:

This site works well, if you go to the profile section...you might find something that seems, well, odd...Kribensis are BW, for example!
