Hello to all, this is my first post.
I was hoping some of you could post you ideas on the proper filter media for a planted aquarium. There does not seem to be any really good info on this subject. Maybe I can learn from the forum so I can save myself some time and money. I currently have a small Eheim filter with Phos-Zorb, Bio-max, and a sponge.Don't get me wrong my tank is doing well, but I think I am the only using Phos-Zorb in a planted tank. I was told by my LFS this is the only thing they recommend for Planted aquariums.
Maybe some of you can help me sort it out
Thanks in advance

Hello.......:welcome:

If you are fertilizing it's appropriate to have some level of phosphate in your water, I add phospahte when it tests at less than 1ppm, so personally I would be throwing money away to use something that took phosphate out of my water. I also use sponges and Biomax only. Running carbon at the moment to take out a medication I used to kill off BGA, but back to sponges and biomax only starting tomorrow.

Only use phos-zorb if your phospahte are to high. I take water to my LFT and get the tests done wich my kit dosent cover and that is one of them.
