my friend has a 125 gallon tank, with an silver arowana, 3 oscars, royal pleco, and a tiger knifefish (i know it is overcrowded, dont complain to me about it though, not my tank). however, he is thinking of getting rid of the fish, and getting green terrors. I have a few questions.
1) What would you do, keep it the same, or go with green terrors?
2) What other fish would go with green terrors in a 125? he wants a pair of green terrors.
I'd do the pair of green terrors over what he has now and something to go with a breeding pair of green terrors in a 125 is not recommended. He does want a breeding pair right??? Depending on decorations and hiding places I would possibly keep the royal plec as well.
I agree with optix. Breeding pair of terrors with the pleco and a target. Silver dollars/giant danios/ rainbows/ red hooks. Just make sure he knows that target fish are just that.

what kind of ground feeder do you recommend?
Don't need one. Just do water changes. They will be killed once a breeding pair reaches maturity.
Take that back you could probably go with a channel cat as they get so large they are likely not to get f'd with.

Green Terrors are pretty easy to sex once they get about three or four inches. If they are that size I would buy one male and three females and then remove the ambiguous females. If they are smaller I would buy ten and enjoy watching their behvior as they grow up. You might even be able to get two spawning pair when they are young.

If he is intent on getting a bottom feeder you could get a Synodontis eupterus. They tend to take no S--- from anything. I know people who keep them with jags. common name is featherfin catfish
