what kind of pleco?

ok I have this for about 4 years. I didnt no there was a difference on them till I joined thid forum.Can some one tell me what kind he is? I got him from walmart.Thanks!

do you have any pics of the mouth and the dorsal fin extended?
 
ok ill try to get more pics.. I will have to measure.he was actually on the back glass and I turned the camera.
 
ok so Here ya go I couldnt get the whole body but I got the mouth and the fin and he is 11 inches(hubby had to help me so I can get him in the corner while he measured lol)

13 rays means he's a hypostomus I think. That means he's go the potential to be two and a half feet long! These are great fish to keep, lots of personality and interaction if you want to hand feed, but they do need a big tank.
 
yeah I am agreeing... that is why I asked to see the mouth and the dorsal extended... one of the easiest ways of identifying the type of species... although as to the specifics I am not sure... (s)he isn't your standard common. I do wishPlanet Catfish was up and running right now... would be a lot easier
 
I figured I'd ask the same question here too.

I have a bushy nose pleco thats the same size.

This is probably the best picture I'll get, the only time he comes outta his little cave is at night.

Hes roughly 6 inches long, maybe a bit longer.
