alright this may sound stupid but i got 10 gallon FW tank (my gfs has it) and she went down to a pond and got some tad pools...now can she put them in the tank?...(tank currently has 2 tiger barbs 3 neons and a mini catfish) 1 tiger barb at least is going but could u do it or no??

I would say no. Tadpoles are lil frogs...they will need land eventually and will be very messy. They shouldn't be put in that tank.

In addition, they are coldwater animals, and the rest of your fish are tropical. Don't mix them, for any number of reasons.

haha srry i wasnt really thinking she just called me out of the blue all excited and asking if she could put them in so my first thought would b to ask u guys and i didnt put it to much thought:) ...lol...thanks though:headbang2:

i've put tadpoles in my tanks before and just removed them to another tank as they grew legs. . . amphibians don't really carry the same parasites/bacteria/illnesses that affect fish, but there is still a chance of some kind of infection. warm/tropical temps don't really bother them, they jiust grow faster. common frogs are very adaptable. in that tank, i would worry more about the tiger barbs nipping and killing them. apparently tadpoles taste delicious.
