i have a read betta and i want to give him a bigger tank(5 gal)
WHAT KIND OF LIVE plants ?
any sugestion welcom
it a low light aquarium with a filter and air

id suggestjava moss for a bottom carpetwith a crypt or some horwort in the middle.

If you want a good broad-leafed plant that will be a good focal-point but stay compact, try to find E. Parviflorus (Tropica). I believe Aquabotanic.com sells it. My local fish store sells it and I can't stop buying it now. Anubias Lancelota is also a neat plant that will fit nicely in a 5g.

Hornwort will get really poofy if it grows right and crowd out everything in a 5g. Just be aware of this.

I have a five gallon hex too, I replaced the light with a screw in flourescent bulb, and added an Anubias Barteri, nice broad leaves, and lots of hiding places for a generally timid Beta...

I have hygrophila difformis (water wisteria), hygrophila polysperma, and Frogbit in my 5 gallon Betta tank with a 13w compact fluorescent bulb. All are growing beautifully, they're doing better in this tank than in any of my others.
I also have java moss, a java fern, and a couple of crypts, but they aren't doing much. They're just kinda there.
