Hi there,
I currently have a 33G tank that I am converting.....very slowly to BW. goin slow since I already have 2 columbian catfish in there. I'm interested in getting a ruby scat once the tank is fully BW & was wondering what would be some appropriate tankmates for him.
Thanx!

The tank is too small for a Scat.

Those shark cats get to 14"(well the biggest I've seen). They will out grow your tank within 15 months. But to answer your question, other scats, archer, mono's, eels, chromides, anableps, ect

Thanx 4 the input. i've decided i'm probably not going to get the scat anyways because I don't want the poor fella to be cramped, but I was wondering about figure 8 puffers...how many could I comfortably put into a 33??

15g for the 1st one & 10g for every exctra. What are your plans for the CS though? I wouldn't add any more fish with the bioload those CS are going to make as they grow in that tank.

Actually I plan on selling the 33 and getting a 77 at some point in the next 6 months or so before the columbians get too big & then possibly adding a scat or two.

I recommend 50g/scat. Also, the CS prefer to live in a school.

I agree, you should address the issue of properly accomodating the colombian sharks before you add some brackish tankmates. If you end up getting a big system, i'd look into something uncommon like target fish (terapon jarbua).
