Lost my cichlid

:perv: Sorry iv not being around for some time as i was going thru a bad time due to the the bad weather. With a continuous downpour for over 18hrs, we had a major power breakdown for around 16hrs during which the water in my cichlid tank turned cloudy and i lost a peacock eel, a copper baby oscar, a beautiful red cichlid and a peacock cichlid. Basically i lost most of my cichlids. What i would like to know is why did my tank water get cloudy.:headshake2:

Maybe an algae bloom, nitrate or amonia spike, did you test your parameters?

I tested the nitrate, nitrite and amonia levels, the nitrate levels were high.:idea:

Thanks, i'm just gonna keep doing frequent water changes till my tank is properly cycled
