Hi,
So I just aquired a pictus cat from someone who was moving and needed to find him a home. the previous owner had him for several months before we got him, and he is now about 5 inches long. He's been in a 30 gal quarantine tank with a few rocks and fake plants to hide behind, but the cave temporarily built for him wasn't acceptable and we figured we'd be moving him soon anyway to where he would have anice cave in the main tank. He's certainly started to move around the tank a lot more in the last week (he's been in the quarantine for a week), and he actually comes over toward the front of the tank, out in the open sometimes when we go over to feed him. However, he just hasn't been eating much. He was a voracious eater in his old tank, and everything i've read said pictus cats will eat to overstuffed. But when i put wafers in the tank (that came from his previous owner so i know he liked them), he hasn't been eating them the last few days (he ate a few the first couple days, but his appetite seems to have trailed off). Could they be stale?
I also offered him some black worms, one of which he seemd to enjoy very much when he actually found it, but i have offered him more, and he seems rather uninterested. Is is appetite just low from moving stress?
