Hi all, In my 125g tank i have a pair of breading convict and cuban cichlids both have had fry around three weeks ago. I have around fifty fry that have made it and need to remove them. Does anyone know an easy way to get them out of the tank, i've tried netting them also syphoning but to no avail as there are too many places for them to hide that i can't reach.

Steve.

Maybe try to gravel vac them out.. but I can only imagine that would be rediculously stressful for the fry, but would probably work.

I've seen this mentioned before and tried it myself but they have so many hiding places that there gone before i get near them, i guess thats why they have survived my salvini.:wall:

if there are so many hiding places then just leave them in there

Only problem with leaving them in there is that the tank is going to be overstocked as they grow.

scoop put what you can..as they grow they'll be easier to find.(I was going to say and catch..but that isn't always the case)

Sounds like my only option.

Are the hiding places thigns you can take out of the tank? Then you could gravel vac the fry out and put the decorations, hiding places back in?
