Well I picked up the new 20 gl today. What a mess. I can't believe that people won't clean something before they sell it. She could have taken the crushed shells out and at least rinsed it out. Well I have some cleaning to do.

Oh and that's the cutest dog in the world.

What do you plan on doing with it?

How much did you pay for that?

It came with a stand (not great but will work) and a little pinguin bio-wheel for $25 bucks. I adopted my DD's betta that I thought could live there.

just take it all out and give it a good scrub and rinse. if you got the whole thing for $25, thats a pretty good deal

White vinegar, hot water and a scraper should get it just like new. That is a cute puppy.

Should I even try to save the crushed shells? they are still wet and I don't know how long they were sitting.

That is a pretty good deal, and with some love that tank should look great. Also I am going to steal your puppy :)

I wouldn't. Crushed shells can mess with the ph sometimes.

Very good find with the tank!

Crushed coral is better suited for fish that like a high pH. I wouldn't include bettas, or many community fish, in that category. Plus, you don't know how well the person kept up that tank... I'd pitch the CC and buy some regular gravel or inert sand.

We use the crushed shells and coral for the African cichlid tank. They need high PH

Good news the tank cleaned up very easy and passed the leak test. I put the shells to the side, I had already picked up new gravel on the way home. I will post pics once I have water in it......

My little doggie is Dotty Mouse (we couldn't decide between Dotty or Mouse). Daddy was full pom and mommy was full mini schnauzer. She is 2 1/2 months and weighs a wopping 3 lbs. I love her to death.......

Here are the updated pics.

Yeah, I totally would have paid that for your setup. The stand looks nice too.

That dog doesn't look spoiled or anything....

Spoiled isn't even the word for that little dog. I think I like her better than the kids right now. The fish are lucky I can't cuddle them 2.

I wish we could cuddle our fishies and take them for walks...but that is absolutely out of the question...I want more fish tanks too...:)

Be glad the tank was dirty. If it came to you clean, you would worry during set up that they used something harmful to clean it.

For used, I'd rather it be dirty.
