Alright. Here I go!

I got a free tank (odd size: ~25 gal.) and I would like to stock with some tangs. I already came up with a stocking plan of 2 julies (species depends on availability) and 3-5 multies. I plan on upgrading so don't comment on space issues...now that's where my question comes in. I also want to add a large group of cyps to fill in the top/open water when I upgrade along with possibly 3 synos. What would my absolute minimum tank size be for this set-up?

I'd go with a 36x18 based tank 50-65 gallons. The surface area of the tank will allow for lots of territory and rockwork.

50g would be minimum 65-75 would be better.

I'm close to purchasing a used 55 gal. with stand, lights, and heater for $150.

a 55 could work if you have enough rockwork.

I'm scratching the synos, too iffy with other fish. I have some holey rock and some escargot shells. Now I just need a tank...
