When can i start feeding my newborn baby peacocks? And also how do i get the water temp in my artemia [2 litre bottle] to 80 degrees? The babies still have the egg sac on their bottoms but can swim.
as soon as the yolk sack is gone they will need another food source. Maybe place the 2 liter bottle into a larger bucket filled with water with a heater in it?
I saw a cool way of heating artemia cultures a while back and will probably set one up. I'll detail it in the DIY section, but I agree with UCF a heater in another container is the way to go.
Our Fry's have never had the sack still attached, at least by the time we see them, probably the next morning after being released, but there very hungry and gobble any flake food or brine shrimp they can get there fins on......
Hikari makes an excellent "First Bites" food that I raised my peacock fry on. Didn't lose a one, all healthy (working on a third generation big-time--3 females mouthbrooding). It comes in a paper packet kind of dealio. Highly recommend; excellent ingredients. Have fun!!!!!
