They'd be perfect for a 30 gal. Check for picks at www.google.com/imghp. Very affordable and prolific.

2 / 3 South American Puffers...

or

5 Dwarf Puffers (depending on gender)...

or

a pair of Figure 8s (although require BW)...

Everytime somebody posts a thread asking for aggresive fish, it worries me. What is the reason for your desire to have extremely aggresive fish? As long as you will act responsibly with them, and I'm sure you will, this isn't really a problem. But some people choose to get aggressive fish for the purpose of watching "fights" which can be harmful if not fatal to the fish.

But enough of my disclaimer. I'm sorry about that, but I just had to get it out of the way. I'm assuming that by "aggressive", you mean reasonably so, and are not looking for a fish that will kill anything in sight. Many cichlids could fit in that size tank that would be quite aggressive. In my experience, kenyii cichlids meet your requirements quite well. They are not too big to fit in your tank (about 4 inches max), are quite attractive, and can be very aggressive at times. You can offer small guppies or other feeder fish as food to a kenyii and it will kill them within a relatively short period of time. They can be kept with other similarly sized cichlids, but you will have to provide adequate hiding places and caves so that they can establish terretories within the tank. You could probably keep a pair of convicts, but they will probably breed quickly and overpopulate the tank.

Best of luck!

Good point - I'd like to make it clear that I was in no way advocating putting puffers in a tank with other fish in order for them to be aggressive. However the sight of a puffer destroying a snail or cockle is something to behold IMO, and is not something that causes problems in a correctly stocked tank.

Unless you're a snail of course...
