The winner of the July 2007 Tank of the Month contest is gbbudd (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/member.php?u=66609)
Specifics of the photograph and tank
The camera that was used was a simple point and click camera placed on a stand flash off and light depression of picture button to alow the camera to prefocus. Many pictures had to be taken just to get a handfull of decent shots. Much like the tank it's self it has taken a year and a half to get the tank to where i felt good about it. Though I broke
most of the rules, i add no ferts and lighting was with simple desk lamps. More out of need for estetics then for desired type of ligting but it seemed to have worked out ok. In stead of ferts i added a old tree stump to the tank that is now decaying and i feel that what gives the plants what they need. i do follow regular 50% water changes minimaly every week, and co2 addition is a must.

Yes, that is the one that most impressed me. How the plants are growing above the waterline suspended in some fashion is very interesting and beautiful.

Your tank is beautiful! Where did you get the tree stump? Tree stump is an old tree stump that was cut at least 15 years ago, THAT WAS FOUND BASICL IN MY BACK yard here in ct . Does every tree stump need to be that old.i think not but what it should be is dried out. You want the "sap" to be dried out. and using hard woods is preferanble from what i have read cedar's and spruce, pine " ever greens " should be avoided for they have alot of sap that takes a long time if ever to dry out.
