I’m back again I have finally realised I do not know anything about the modern day fish keeping. I have two big tanks to set up and realise U/G filtration is now a thing of the past what I need is a good site to explain pros and cons of the different systems. I realise this is a rather large subject for this forum as I have not got a clue about bio wheels etc. I think the forum is great but do not want to tie it up with my basic problems so if anyone has a recommended site or even just a piece of literature please help. The one question I will ask is has anyone used Amber light resin in their external filters to soften the water or is there a good reason not to. I do know how to re activate it but have not seen it mentioned as a media/addition in an external filter yet. I will still be scanning the forum and picking up hints and hopefully when my tanks are up and running keep you informed or possibly even be able to add to some threads.
