We've had this tank set up for quite some time now, but it is in the process of a little remodel.

Stocked with:
2 clown loaches
1 blood parrot
2 bala sharks
10 cardinal tetras
5 penguin tetras
1 lemon tetra
1 leporinus fasciatus
1 botia loach
2 plecos
5 harlequin rasboras
and our newest addition... 1 rose line shark

The first picture is a before...
Took down the reflective background and opted for black, along with some wood, instead of a modge-podge of rocks.
The tank is still in progress and my plan is more wood and trying my hand at some live plants... I'll post more pics as soon as there is a change!
Oh, also, one of my first trys at taking pictures of these guys...
Some didn’t want to play the picture game tonight…
Let me know what you think!!!
Thanks,
-Jenn

Nice tank but it's overstocked.:) If I might suggest, the clown loaches will have to go and add more yoyo loaches(yes, your botia loach is a yoyo). The balas should also be rehomed in a larger tank. You can replace them with more roseline sharks instead if money permits. The leporinus fasciatus, common plecs and blood parrots are best kept in another tank before they can cramped others for space. The chances of cardinals, harlies, lemon and penguin tetras disappearing with a blood parrot there is high.

Well, a 125 is on its way.
And the parrot has been in there with the cardinals and harlequins for quite some time...no damage done.

the rose line shark (torpedo barb) is a shoaling fish so would be happier with others but these also get to 6" so again your going to end up with overstocking probs with the other fish you already have :(

If you're going to tell people they are overstocked, please tell them why and give a solution. Just saying you're way overstocked doesn't do anyone a bit of good.

I agree that the roseline needs to go, but I would be inclined to scrap the plecos (look like common) and replace with ancistrus, keep the loaches, get rid of the parrot or give it its own tank. The leporinus is going to get huge, so good thing you have a larger tank on the way.

Isnt a botia a yo-yo? I've looked for the difference, the only thing I can tell is "botia" is part of the latin name for the yo-yo? Am I way off?

2 clown loaches -these grow 12-16" long, so a 125g+ is in order, plus they need schools of 4+
1 blood parrot -this will grow 8-10" long
2 bala sharks -these will grow 14-18", will eat fish, and need schools of 4+
10 cardinal tetras -fine
5 penguin tetras -fine, 6-7 would be nice
1 lemon tetra -schooling fish, 6 is the minimum
1 leporinus fasciatus -no idea, but Nolapete said they get "HUGE" (I take that as a MFK-worthy fish)
1 botia loach -all loaches need their buddies, 4+
2 plecos -these get to be 12-20" long, and a 125g could only handle 1. They're crap machines.
5 harlequin rasboras fine, 6-7 would look better
1 rose line shark -schooling fish, 6" long max. length.

Research fish before you get them. If I had impulse-buyed a "rice paddy eel" from a NSLFS on the assurement of the worker that it would get 3" long, I'd be trying to contend with a 40" brackish monster.

Well, it's better than just standing their nodding and smiling and saying "Great tank!", IMO... I do agree that you should be as helpful as possible about it :)

There are many, many kinds of botia. Dozens. Most of the loaches you see are botia :)

Bold my emphisis

I know very little about overstocking issues but I can still admire a great tank. Where's the harm in that?

Great tank!

I applaud those who are offering their help or stating their thoughts on stocking issues...and remain 'professional' about it. It seems that way too often on this board many threads are becoming the equivalent to the Salem Witch Trials, where people are repeating the same info over and over, getting angry and rude. Once something has been said, it should be done with.
I'm not referring to this particular thread, but the trend of 'judge/jury/executioner' going on...especially to newcomers to this sight.

Nice tank...take any advice or leave it.

No offense Dwarf puffer but this "Your overstocked" sh!t is getting so annoying. I agree with nolapete, give a solution, and how he can fix it.
