I think I've got NTD in my tank, I bought three new neon tetras which quickly perished over a period of a week and a half. Now my old neons as well as my harlequin rasboras show signs (such as fin rot, bent spine, staying away from the shoal and the other neons driving sick looking fish from the shoal). However my red eye and blue tetras haven't been affected, there are also 8 corie cats (assorted) a pleco, a SAE, two otos and a SA puffer in the tank. Which is a 55 gal, heavily planted tank. I've moved the rest of my harlequins and my neons to my hospital tank in order to reduce infection. Someone please help as to what I should do (well I know what to do if it is NTD, axe the little buggers....) I just don't know what else it could be and what I should do to the tank to rid it of NTD in the water.

Have you checked here: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html ? Good place to ID diseases. I'd watch the main tank carefully, and quickly pull any suspicious fish.

that's what I've been doing so far, nobody else shows any signs other than the neon tetras and the harlequin rasboras.

Have you performed a large water change on your main tank? If you haven't already, I would do a 40-50% water change. Continue to monitor your fish as OrionGirl has suggested, and pull out any suspicious fish. It also wouldn't hurt to monitor your water parameters
As an aside, which store did you buy the neons from? As I also live in Vancouver, I've been thinking about purchasing some more Cardinals, or maybe some neons. I will probably avoid that particular store, especially if all their tanks are attached to a central filtration system. Thanks.

I bought them from big al's in richmond, I should have known when they were selling them 3 for 1.99 - GREAT DEAL!!!!-
yeah great deal, it only cost me 2 dollars to wipe out the small tetra population of my beautiful planted tank.
