Well I finally ordered some replacement fans for my cube. They are Evercool Stainless Steel 60x60x25(I will get longer screws sooon). They are supposed to be one of the best fans out there. So anyway, I got them in today and I hooked them up just to see if they would work and....nothing. The plug is a 3 pin so I ordered a 3 to 2 pin connector (along with the ffans) and they hook up as they should. I am clueless. What should I do?

Thx,
Jake

It's a 12v DC. And how exactly is it designed to fit motherboards. And what is a motherboard?

I'd worry about saltwater with those fans.

A motherboard is the brains of a computer. Many of us use PC fans to cool our surface. They are very similiar but plastic. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999965

You should be able to pick some up at Circuit City. You will need an adapter to modify them to work. You can get one from Radio Shack or use an adapter for a mobile phone, etc.

Grins, another? , how is this fan worse than a PC?

The PC one is made of plastic, the one you linked to is aluminum which can corrode. Either way I'd say you'd need to plan on replacing the fans annually due to salt creep.

I use a 120 mm pc fan hooked with a power adapter from an old dial up modem.

I also found in an old cabinet a 120 mm fan with 120 ac(lucky I work in Field services)

the 120 is quiter turns at slower rpm..more efficient at air movement the 80's are good but they turn higher rpms many times. and as a result you hear the buzzing of the fan more.

They have to be 60mm and my dad told me to get some 60x60x15 b/c the 25mm are so close to the water.

I am also having trouble finding a 60x60x15mm fan with 2 pins instead of 3 or 4.
