I was wondering if it is possible to set up a 20 gallon tangynyikan tank that has at least 5 different species of one each. Possibly including neo. birchardi and compressiceps. Any ideas/info is greatly appreciated

5 species is a lot for 20 gallons. It is best to pick only a couple that inhibit different niches, like a small group of shell dwellers and maybe a pair of rock dwellers like julies. Brichardis are very aggressive, and probably not the best with other species, but compressiceps are fine in a 20. Cichlid forum has some cookie cutters but in my opinion some of these are too much for a 20 gal.

A small group of shelldwellers would be the best suggestion. I agree with Jpappy. Brichardis aren't exactly the fish you want with the level of aggression they have.
