custom canopy, custom lighting...

I was toying around with the idea of creating my own canopy for my standard footprint 55g. I was also toying around with creating a lighting system that has a custom lights with regular incandescent lighing and also a black light as a show item. Does anyone have any suggestions towards this or any experience. Can using a black light in a aquarium had an adverse effect on the fish?

it wouldent have an adverse affect on the fish but i wouldent see why you would want to use a blacklight.

oh you could get some painted glass fish glow in the dark plants.
then sit around and blow your smoke at it.

The black light wont cause probs other than heat it makes other incandesents will cause alge probs.

interpet sells a bulb called the blue moon. it is for night viewing. it gives about the same affect as a blacklight without all of the heat.
