I'm am moving into a house soon(Hopefuly the one I'm putting in a bid for today.) Anyway, there is a room in the basement, that will be perfect for a fish room. The room next to it may become a dining area, or a Keeping room.

Anyway, so here are my plans.
1. Bring in plumbing into a large shop sink.(Like Custodian's)
2. pull laminate floring down on the wood(It's like a splitlevel basement thing. Hard to explain. ANyway, it's got plywood flooring.)
3 put a plastic trim up around the edges, and silicone all around to prevent a wet spot under the laminate or in the walls.
Also, in the future, have a large tank inwall, so that you can see it from the ajoining Dining or keeping room.

PLEASE give me whatever tips you have. On what things I could do before I get a bunch of tanks set up in there.

Nice, what size tank are the clowns going into?

In time, a bigger tank than I have. but around a 120 to 200, whatever becomes available to me at a reasonable price. At least for a few years, then it's into an indoor pond. Mine or someone elses.(I bought them before I knew about them. Begginer mistake.)

it sounds like youve got it down. from what you are describing, it sounds like a pretty good fish room. just make sure your sump pump is powerful enough...the last thing you would want is for your fish room to get flooded and then who knows what your fish will get exposed too!

Well that's just it. I've obviously never had a fish room. Please, inform me on what would be some good steps to take other than the ones I mentioned. I mean. I'm ashamed to say, I really don't know what you mean when you say that. I want the basics as well you know? Besides, Pictures will be a plentiful when the process begins, so we'll all get to enjoy.

might want to rewire the room, you'll be using a lot of current probably, and its probably not set up well for a fishroom..

You should have some sort of drain in the floor like you would a laundry room. Will make an accidental spill much less worrisome.

I see Electrical has been adressed. Also look into the full plumbing for the room. See if you can tap into the hot and cold water lines in there and install a set of faucets to make cleaning your tanks easier. If possible even install a wash sink (you know the big ones in a laundry room?).
