Tiki and I went to a fragging demo by our club today. I had fun (think he did too). I'm now sitting here with superglue stuck all over to my fingers and slime from a Bali Green Slimer in my tank. Lots of freebies today and lots of information.

Seriously, join a club if you haven't already. The YouTube videos Niko posted above are fantastic, I even fragged a zoa colony I bought last night by using one. However, getting to have someone local show you first hand can't be beat. It was far easier than I thought it would be.

So today I bought a green slimer (huge frag about 8 inches, looks more like a colony than a frag. ($5) and then one of the members was very generous and gave me a monti cap, a bubble coral, some zoas and some macroalgae.

Join a club.

There is one down Minneapolis but its toooo far to drive with gas prices what they are.. Its a 3 1/2 hour drive from where I live.. Sigh..

good deal grins im going to my clubs meeting on the 29 here in Greensboro. Going to a pool party!! w/ frag swap. I actually just traded a member a colony of mushrooms and a leather toodstool for a 20G L sump/refuge that I will be adding to my 110.
 
def. we usually have the meets at diff peoples houses and it just so happends that our mod has a pool!! so we are going to grill out and do a lil frag swappin'
 
Grins, I had a great time and it was a lot of fun meeting you. Everyone was so generous with sharing info and you got an amazing frag! I probably could have gotten something, but I'm still timid about adding anything to my tank.

I guess I'm gonna take it really slow.
 
I completely understand...however I bet you can get away with some zoas or mushrooms if you want an easy leap.

Oh and yes, had a great time meeting you as well. As a bonus, when we left my son said to me "Guess what I found out? I asked the guys there about sumps and they all told me to go the same one. When I looked upset they asked me what was up and I told him that it was the same site you had told me to go to and I had figured you didn't know anything about stuff like that so didn't listen."

So, bonus for me, my son admitted I'm not a technical doofus. ;-)
 
I have thought about some shrooms, and after todays meeting, I know how to frag them if I want to share with friends.

Oh, and I never thought you were a technical doofus. LOL Your son is very polite and I had a nice chat with him while you were chatting corals.
