do False Ocellaris Clown - Amphiprion ocellaris normaly swim at the top of the tank. Or is there something wrong with my fish. he looks to be alright and he eats. i am just wondering
I don't know the answer. But that's just quite strange. I bought a False Ocellaris Clown - Amphiprion ocellaris and put it in my tank yesterday, all it does is stay in the corner of the tank, in the bottom swimming (he went up once or twice;that I saw). I tried to feed it brine shrimp it, tried to eat then spit it out.
I have a True Perc and a Occelarius.. They both have a tendancy to stay about in the middle of my tank.. They come to the top when I am feeding and swim around from top to bottom depending on if something interesting catches their attention. They do stay pretty near one section of my LR on the right side of my tank (I'm assuming they have claimed squatters rights)..
I am technically a newbie but these are questions I would research if it was happening to me.. What other type of fish do you have in your tank? How do they fit in relation to the clown? Are they a compatable fish? I personally use this chart to check on any potential purchases before I bring them home..
Do any of your fish normally swim in the middle to bottom areas? Are any of your fish agressives or a not compatible with the clown? Was he sticking to the top of your tank where you bought him??
yep thats correct. If it is a new addition ( relating now to your Q) the fish would take a day or two, sometimes even a week to get used to its new environment. Make sure you have sufficient desolved oxygen.
