View Full Version : new Betta owner..trying to learn and keep him happy

Hello, I stumbled across this website when trying to learn more about Betta's. I am a first time "mom" of a Betta named Skippy. He was a birthday present. I got him a 10 gal tank with all the bells and whistles and am having so much fun with him. He is very happy and active and quite a character. I cant believe how attached I am to him. I have always had dogs and have a very beloved black lab named Billy now but never had fish. So I joined this forum to learn how to care for my Betta the best way possible. I have already learned alot. Thanks! Oh, I also got Skip a tank mate...a mystery snail named Timmy. They are doing fine together. Skippy just sat and stared and stared at Timmy for the longest time and then apparently accepted his new friend. So, hello everyone! Nice to be a new member of your community!

Welcome to the site of AC...and I have a betta also, I have had 2 in the past, and they are characters with individual personalities...if ya ever have a question and we can't seem to answer it the best person to ask is Kyohti...she is the knowledge of bettas, you ask she has the answers...Hope to see some pix sometime of your Skippy...
