In the tanks at my LFS they have maybe 5 tanks in an area with corydoras at the bottom of them. One has a large amount of albino cories of some sort, then the rest have other fish with a scattering of cories at the bottom. All the tanks in the area have C. julii stickers. Just as far as the C. Julii/Trilineatus and similar ones go, there was maybe 3 in one tank. One small one looked like a julii instead of a Trilineatus (spots vs connected spots on the head) Do trilineatus grow into the connecting spots and start with individual ones? Anyway, across the isle is another 4-5 similar looking ones. The difference is they have the panda cory like spot over their eyes, but the rest of the fish has the spots like a julii. The dark spot on their fin is not at the top tip, it's more in the middle.

We weren't there for the cories, but I did stop a guy and ask. He didn't know but went to check the computer. He came back saying they are labeled as Assorted Cories, but that species was something that started with an "me" sound (yay for hard to pronounce latin) I didn't press him to try to pronouce it, and thus the word was lost to me.

They were cute, and looked similar to julii/trilineatus. I'm eventually going to get a school, and since there are more of the mystery cory and they look unique I want to figure out what they are so I can see if they will like the same conditions as the julii. More importantly, to find out how big they get. A google search didn't turn up much since it's hard to search for a picture, and "corydoras" related ones only end up showing the common ones.

When I first got my corys, my lf had them all in one tank labeled "assorted corydoras." I ended up with 4 different species! Now they have them split up in different tanks, which makes it a lot easier to id. I'd search on planetcatfish, they probably have some species id stuff...

I found some similar looking ones when I searched by size. It seems that the ones that look like julii's only get 2-4 inches tops. Hmm anyway, when you ended up with 4 difference species, did they hang out together?

I kinda thought it was C. melanistus, but the spot was on the fin, not half and half.

Not really. They were pretty much by themselves. All but two of my original corys died though. I got 2 more bronze corys. They were smaller but they often follow around the bigger one. My peppered cory seems lonely, but I might get another one or two...my tank will be overstocked...

i was wondering if different types of corys would mix together, ive got 6 bronze in one tank and 4 albino in another n i was thinking of putting them in together

x_LoUiSe_x, most albino corys are just a colorless version of bronze, same species. They'd be fine & should hang out together, they can tell they're the same.
