Today I purchased a used 125 acrylic aquarium. I've never owned one. I noticed before buying that the inside front and sides are somewhat foggy looking...Worried that it might be small scratches, I inspected pretty closely and found nothing. Just this fogginess. The people selling it stated that it goes away when filled, then proceeded to fill it for me so I could see with my own eyes. They were right. It dissapeared.

What is this? A mineral deposit of some kind?

It was used as a planted community tank, filled about 6 inches deep with gravel. The fogginess starts right about where the gravel-line begins.

What can I do to remedy this?

 Hopefully it hasn't been damaged by improper cleaning solutions. This product is excellent for removing most scratches. I use it on mine w/ fantastic results! http://www.novuspolish.com/ Good luck, "T"

it's not scratches, more like a fine deposit.

I bookmarked the page you sent me, looked at the site, but no mention of aquariums...
