know of a good price on a RO/DI Unit?

As I reccommended in another thread, you can buy hefty 5 gallon jugs and go to grocery stores and but it for pretty cheap (like 30 cents a gallon). You can also use it for drinking water (which I personally prefer way over tap water.) You need to be careful though since some units at stores have clogged filters and need maintenancing, but it could be a cheaper short-term solution.

We used to have a water store around here called Water-to-Go that had an EXCELLENT RO unit (the store was devoted to clean water) and it you could get it for about 19 cents a gallon. Unfortunately it shut down due to the sudden death of the owner (pretty sad really, knew him for about 9-10 years).

Be careful about using water from stores, please see this thread.

rich, like Grins has said, there are cheaper RO units and he points out to buy the best affordable unit for the expression is, you get what you paid for. I would suggest for the best that your a carbon and Hi-S DI cartridges with a membrane. You might also think about getting a better unit if your any plans to have a larger tank and even that you might move on over to a reef tank.
I'm sorry rich, on the second link you provided, I still for what I want to do wouldn't touch those with a ten foot pole and as for buying the water cheaper at the stores other then your LFS, I would be extremely careful in doing that>

On the unit I have, the Hi-S DI cartridges cost $33 each and I run two at one time>

My tanks water is as important to me as my grandchildren, well almost :)
