I'd make the yellow labs 1M 2F, but looks ok otherwise.

how do u tell the sex in yellow labs?

oh and what kind of things do i need to do to the water and the aquarium to make it really nice for them? (such as decor, substrate etc.)

I'd use coral sand or Eco-complete Cichlid as a substrate to make sure that the pH and hardness are high.
