Hey gang – we’ve got our house on the market and the realtor has “suggested” that we get rid of several of our tanks so the house looks more like a home and less like a fish store! So, since I can’t ship the tanks, there’s no point in listing them here – but I have got a number of my pretty little wet pets for sale on aquabid so I “can” sell the tanks. Here’s the listings:

I would truly appreciate any and all help in finding homes for my little pretties (sounds like something out of the Wizard of Oz doesn’t it!?). Thanks in advance to you all!

jeez, that's sad.

you should look into renting a storage fascility with electricity... that way you wouldn't have to get rid of your tanks and just hold them there until you have a new place

Nope - not really, because the next move is to a much smaller house, and after that it may be out of country. Have to start paring down sooner or later anyway - this realtor just kinda put the "hurry" in it. Yes, it is sad, I love my wet pets and my kitties love the fishies too - sit in front of the tank and just watch and slap at them. We'll all miss them. I just want to find good homes for them because we don't have a LFS who will buy them. In fact, we don't have a LFS period!

I am trying to pull up aqua bid, my house to looks like an aquarium store
I love my little friends, spend most of my free time with them

is cichlids all you have

Thanks guys, they are beautiful little "pets"! No, I have the cichlids AND some Calico Painted Moon/Platys as well as some Neon Green Painted Moon/Platys as well. They are both much prettier than the stock pic on aquabid shows (need to get the camera back out and try again). Eventually as these two tanks get thinned out, I'll figure out which ones I can "live without" till the move... I kinda have to do this a little at a time (maybe one species at a time would be a better way to say it). Let me know if you are interested in either of the other two fish species!

I wouldn't have taken nicely to a realter telling me to throw away all my fish :mad2:

No, he didn't really say "throw away your fish"! It's just that I have a twin 65 gallon setup (two 65's on one long cabinet) right behind the dining room table. Looks great (in my opinion anyway), but for an upper end house, they want more open area around the dining table - and honestly it is too crowded there. We don't eat at the table so it doesn't bother us (we choose the sofa and tv for our dinners). Once the tanks are emptied out, I'll put the twin set with the high wattage lighting on ebay and claim the space for the dining area! He was actually VERY nice about it - he even liked the fish tanks everywhere, just more room needed there and in the office where I have two 10 gallon tanks taking up desktop space. He really is right, and the next house will be smaller, so it's not altogether something that we didn't need to do anyway - sad though it is! Thanks for your sympathy though, it helps!
