i need the following parameters:
dh= 1-2 degrees
ph = 5.5
how can i acomplish this.
this may make it hard to deciding seeing how i dont have any test kits to test my tap water.
but i'm sure my tap is around 7 ph.
should i do peat filtering?
R/O water?
commercial ph lowering chems?
thanks
I think that if you want to do water modification, you are going to need the test kits.

while there are things that can lower the pH, I agree with RTR, it's going to be close to impossible (at best) to be sure when and if you reach those parameters without a kit. How do you know the pH of your tap is 7.0?

haha, i thought so. i was dumb not to post my water parameters as for now.
in a few days, when i go out and get my test kits. i'll post the stats.
thanks
Be sure to test your tap water pH after aging overnight in a shallow bowl or after strong aeration 30 minutes or more.

30 minutes of air stoning is enough to stable ph? or should i still overnight are stone

Do it overnight to be most accurate. I always test the next day. Although I don't use an airstone, I have found water chemistry to be quite a bit different 24 hours later.
