I've been poking around on here for awhile and thought I should get around to saying a little something about myself. So far the information on here has been often helpful and while I've certainly been putting more effort into my tanks since I started reading I've also stopped having fish deaths so it's probably worth it.
Personally, I live in Maryland a good stone's throw away from the DC border with my fiancee. I'm originally from Wisconsin, just south of Milwaukee. We're going to be getting married on Pi Day of next year because, firstly, I'm a huge dork and secondly because she lets me get away with silly stuff as long as it makes me happy. I have a MS in Mathematics and I work as a survey statistician.
Fishily, to make up a word, I have a nice 33G hex front set up in my living room. Right now the plants look pretty rough, as the bleach bath did a good job of killing them, but there's some nice growth starting on them so I'm sure it's going to be lovely and green in a few months. I have a nice school of 10 bloodfin tetras in there right now, soon to be joined by 6 skunk corydoras. After that I'll be toying around with gouramis, a few platies, and some shrimp. It'll be a bit of a balancing act between putting in everything I want and not feeling guilty about crowding. I also have a 10G that's being used for QT and will probably be a betta home once I finish stocking the 33G.
