I'd like to make an undergravel jet system for my new 50 gallon. There's some good information at the following website as to how to set it up.

My question is: How do you direct the jet nozzles? I don't know exactly how to position them for an ideal current. For instance, should they all push the water the same way to create a giant circular current? Should they all point different directions to stir the water up the most? Should they all be aimed at one point in order to push the water towards the filter intake?

Any thoughts?

Good idea.

From the picture of the posting, it looks like they are pointed in different directions.

you dont have to direct the nozzels, just the water flow. you can use pieces of elbow piping to make the water flow move in different difections. the nozzels just have to point down into the PVC pipes

have the outputs of the pipes faceing in different directions, but in the general direction fo the intake.
