My tank has been recently overran with Malaysian trumpet snails. Id like to get rid of them all. I cannot put any chemicals in it because I also have a blue mystery snail that I want to keep. I read about a method of putting veggies in a saltshaker like container and let it sit on the bottom. Then when the snails go in it take it out and get rid of them. Does this really work? Will I be able to get them all out or just some? Any other suggestions let me know.

It'll make a dent in the population. However, that's limited on the size of the opening as you may not get the big ones.

Try not feeding so much food. The fish will be fine.

You can also putting a piece of zuchinni on the bottom, then remove it when it's covered. Repeat as necissary.

Ok I will just feed less and I will look for a container to put some cucumber in. The reason I feed quite a bit is because my barbs usually eat all the food before it hits the bottom and I want to make sure the cories are able to get food. I know this may not sound right but I do not want to starve them.

Another thing is they only come out at night and cannot even see them during the day. Ill have to get up really early to get the container out before they leave it to hide in the gravel again. I wouldn't mind them if I did not have my mystery snail.

I just put a small glass container in the tank with some cucumber. Ill keep an eye until its full of snails then get rid of them. I may see if the local fish store wants to feed them to the puffers. Ill let you know how good this method works.
