Greetings to everyone. My name is Charlie Greiner although I just go by Charlie. I have been involved in aquaria for 46+ years at this point. I have kept numerous freshwater and marine species, operated a small freshwater angel farm, a coral farm, and succeeded in getting the Casseopia jelly to progress to its freeswimming stage in my tanks. We relocated about 8 months ago and all the tanks were distributed to friends. The one I miss the most is my hand built (literally) 240 gallon reef. The whole setup was moved to a friends home in 1 day. What an undertaking that was. At this point I only have a 60 gallon tank. It contains 14 small but gorgeous freshwater angels and 6 cory cats. I tried using the DSB approach from my reef days and, despite warnings that the approach would not travel from marine to fresh, it's working great. BTW, the sand was purchased at a local supermarket for $8.99 a 50 lb bag. It is the same stuff I used in my reef tanks. It was dry and sterilized so I had no hitchiker problems. Complete cycle took 3 weeks.

I will be happy to help wherever I can but please be patient with my typing and the fact that I travel for business a few times a month.

My answers might not be what some want to hear. I am the original owner of captiveraisedcorals.com. Started it back when many said coral farming in aquaria would never work. Sold the business because of health issues. I always like to try what makes sense to me even though I am told it cannot be done. Sooooo, my help might be confused with a touch of lunacy.

I will take a regular peek anyway.
