Hi all,

It's been a while since i have been on, mainly because my tank has been going pretty good. I now have a problem with my yellow brittle star. It now only has 1/2 a leg and the disk left. It appears that they have been sliced off with little left of the rest of its legs. Can someone please help me with this, i have never seen anything like this before. Can it be just a water problem or could i have an unkown critter in my tank that would do this? One other thing i noticed tonight is that there is a small (>1/8in) white dot on top of the disc.

Any Help?

thanks,

can you please post water paraments? especialy SG, nitrates, and phosphate? there are things that will prey on starfish, so if you coudl post your fish and invert list, that too woudl be appreciated. the reason i aska bout your water levels is starfish will, many times, drop an arm as a form of asexual reproduction when water levels are not what they need. they also need a high specific gravity of 1.025-1.026, and not many people always know this when purchasing one. they are also ver sensitive to nitrates. good luck with him.
