I noticed last week 2 of my goldfish were missing from my small pond. I figured probably a bird, raccoon, or skunk got them. Tonight I walked out to walk one of the dogs, heard this really loud splash. Ran in & got the flashlight, couldn't see anything, looked under the deck-waiting to get sprayed by a skunk or something lol. Looked back in the pond, saw my pleco swimming around, and something else, then it jumped out to the top of the water fall....huge frog or toad-couldn't tell, guessing a frog though. I've seen bigger bull frogs, but not in the last few years. I'm guessing he was about a foot long or so while sitting. So, is it possible for this guy to have eaten my two 8 inch comets??? I've also noticed, the smaller frogs haven't been around the pond anymore, they've vanished also. Would he have eaten them as well or scared them off? And, I'm guessing I need to get some kind of wire or mesh to put across the pond(like I said, it's a small formed pond about 100 gallons), is there any other alternatives?
