I had a guy at my work offer me a 6 foot tank for free. My only thought is how many gallons is that? His guess at the dimensions was roughly 6' x 18" x 24". Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Well everyone thank you for your input. I got permission from my wife to move the piano to make room for the tank. So tomorrow morning I will tell my co-worker I will take it, after that watch for pictures. The only problem is it has a crack in the glass bottom so I will have to repair that before doing anything. Well anyways I will post more later.

Good luck, I had enough trouble fixing (read cutting down) a 4 foot tank.

Google will also do just about any conversion you want, including math along with it. And since I have the little google search in my firefox toolbar I dont even have to go to google. Just type in the search line: 72 x 18 x 24 cubic inches in gallons (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=72+x+18+x+24+cubic+inches+in+gallons&btnG=Search). Substitute gallons for liters or imperial gallons or ounces or whatever you want. Or substitute cubic inches for cubic centimeters, etc, etc. 'in' is how google knows you want to express the answer 'in' a different unit. And of course were dealing with volume which is the 3 tank dimension multiplied together.
It would be a great tank, just make sure the floor can support it ;)

but i want more.
I bet everyone here gets that feeling a lot; bigger tanks are so much more satisfying.
Anyways, thats pretty cool that you're getting such a big tank. Any ideas on what you're stocking it with?
